Came here with co-workers for lunch, Food was above average, I had the Schnitzel, co workers had Goulash, calamari and a chicken wrapped in asparugas with proscuitto. Bread was excellent, service was AWESOME. Will I return ??? HECK YEAH - This place is on my rotation. Highly recommended!
What a wonderful gem! Came on a Sunday afternoon and it was empty, but very nice inside. The decor and seating looks very elegant. Special shoutout to marlen and Marcos for making our visit spectacular and accommodating! They were super friendly, attentive, and just overall amazing servers. I ordered some calamari and it was perfect, I love that it actually tastes like calamari and not just bread. We also settled on the chefs special and it was superb. Their pasta is made fresh in house and you can just taste the difference from other Italian restaurants. I added some pepper flakes and parmesan and it made it all the better. I would've loved to try some Czech dishes, but that will have to be for another visit!
It's been years since I've dined at this cozy and delicious restaurant! I met up with a friend who was in town for business and this seemed like the perfect place to catch up with him. We shared the Chopsky Salad, which was fresh and crunchy and topped with the perfect amount of feta. He had the ravioli dressed with pesto and I had the Chicken Paprikash. The servings were huge and the food tasty. Our server was attentive in just the right way! I also love that the tables were nicely spaced. I didn't feel like I was packed in like sardines. Next time you want a home cooked meal in a cozy atmosphere, stop by the Sacramento institution!
Decided to come here for my Dad's birthday lunch. I made reservations beforehand, and when we arrived our table was ready and we were greeted at the door! We ordered the combination pizza. It was made with quality ingredients and absolutely delicious! Our waitress was incredible and it was ALSO her birthday!!! We had an incredible time! One of my favorite spots to eat in East Sac!!!
Hungarian meets Italian cuisine! I adore the Hungaian dishes of potato pancakes, schnitzel and goulash. The pizza looks amazing. This is a hidden gem, not to locals, and you can't beat the Czech beer and great service. Make this a fun date night!
La Trattoria is great! We really appreciated the authentic Czech-Italian decor and the signature Czech comfort food type dishes. The service was friendly and the prices were reasonable, with ample meat in the dishes. The beer selection is excellent, including several Czech beers and some other European options like Delirium Tremens. The dishes were flavorful and crowd pleasers. Think creamy sauces over casserole type dishes. Dishes we had were the chicken paprikash, fettuccini alfredo, and pork scallopini--all delicious with a similar tender meat style. For such great signature dishes, there were some things I felt could be better. We had the La Trattoria Salad which we found rather simple. Another small area for improvement--the bread came with firm disposable butter packets (almost unspreadable), and I felt a restaurant with such great meals would benefit from softened butter to compliment the bread. Nonethless, overall a great restaurant and glad I finally got to try it. I hear the pizza is excellent and I look forward to trying it.
One of the benefits of having friends unlike yourself, is that they challenge you to explore experiences that take you out of your comfort zone. This was definitely the case when one of me & my wife's favorite couples invited us to La Trattoria Bohemia for lunch. If my 40 year old self would have told my 20 year old self that I would eventually try Czech and Italian cuisine, I would have laughed in my face. Thankfully, I have a wife and friends who have gently encouraged me to try new things. Upon entering the restaurant, we were warmly greeted by an employee named Devin who seated us in the near-empty restaurant. Initially, I was a bit concerned about how empty the restaurant was (maybe an indication of the quality of food and service). However, I was relieved when small groups began trickling in. Also, I was intrigued by how familiar (first name basis familiar) the staff are with their return customers. Like the Cheers theme song goes, "sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came! We placed an order of the calamari to share and I placed an order for the meat ravioli with two bratwurst sausages. To quench my thirst, I ordered a passionfruit brew that was on the special drink menu. Roughly 15 minutes later, our orders were being delivered to the table. I knew that I made the right decision when I smelled and tasted my order, each ravioli was hot and bursting with flavor! The calamari was a favorite with everyone at our table and we were all surprised to learn that the dip provided was ranch (delicious by the way), not tartar sauce. Devin did a great job of checking in on us throughout the experience and almost convinced us to have dessert (we were too full for that)! I definitely would recommend this establishment to my family and friends, my wife and I look forward to making a return visit!
It was my first time here with my husband, on a weekday afternoon on a torrential rainy day in March. Warm servers, greeted and we were seated promptly. Place was almost full. Place offers lots of vegetarian options and substitutes on requests. All the food we ordered were excellent! From the starters to entrees to our dessert. Everything was simply amazing. The service on the other hand was extremely slow. Only 2 servers in the entire restaurant (indoors, outdoor dining was closed due to rain). If you plan on dining here be sure to have your patience and lot of time, as the food is definitely worth the wait.
You've probably driven past this restaurant a thousand times and never stopped in, but you should. While parking can be difficult, the food is amazing and staff is very welcoming and warm. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available, and while outdoor would be nice it was a bit chilly so we opted to sit inside. The restaurant was busy but it wasnt loud so you could still hear the person next to you talking. My pasta was massive that at first I was shocked of the size, but it was amazing. The sauce paired well with the arugula and tomatoes. We also opted for a bruschetta appetizer which was tasted fresh.
Found this through Yelp when one person in our party wanted spatzle and it didn't disappoint. 4 plates of food ordered and shared by all starting with a shared appetizer of potato pancakes served with applesauce and sour cream. Potatoes cooked nice and crisp and not oily Chicken Schnitzel with red pepper cream sauce, spaetzle with gravy and a cucumber salad hit the mark of the dish we came in for. 2nd plate included tender beef goulash in a rich gravy, served with green beans and warm red cabbage. All were a hit as were the 1st ever taste of Czech dumplings (explained as steamed) very tender 3rd dish of pork picate with white wine caper sauce was lightly sautéd and accompanied by a tangy caper sauce. Warm cabbage was seasoned welUndercooked Roasted red potatoes were the only miss on this plate. Final dish was daily special of rabbit with mashed potatoes. All agreed the rabbit was dry (though only one member of party had rabbit before so maybe that's rabbit?). Plating was unique and portions sizes large Everyone had leftovers for another meal. Service very pleasant and attentive.
